Sherry McInerney
Vice President, Director, Virginia

Sherry McInerney, Vice President and Director of Emerson Equity's Virginia office, brings to the firm over 20 years of securities and financial services industry experience, with a focus on relationship management, operations management, and personal and corporate investments.

As a financial advisor she provides customized solutions for her clients that include investment planning, as well as strategies and guidance on both the individual and corporate level. This is followed up with implementation and ongoing review to best achieve her clients' objectives and goals within an appropriate risk profile.

With a career-long client service focus, Ms. McInerney helps clients realize their desires for the future, while taking care of their immediate investment needs. Whether it's for retirement, education, estate planning, business succession or wealth accumulation, Ms. McInerney's goal is to help her clients succeed.

Ms. McInerney joined Emerson Equity from Banc of America Investments, where she was a Senior Financial Consultant and Assistant Vice President. She joined Banc of America Investments through the acquisition of Quick & Reilly.

Prior to Quick & Reilly, Ms. McInerney was a Financial Advisor for Merrill Lynch, one of the most prestigious and well known firms on Wall Street. At Merrill Lynch, she maintained security accounts for high net worth individuals and corporations focusing on responsibly growing their wealth while minimizing their risk.

Before joining Merrill Lynch, Ms. McInerney was a relationship manager for Wachovia Corporation overseeing more than $13 billion in retirement assets for both Fortune 100 and Fortune 500 companies. This included a wide spectrum of retirement vehicles such as Defined Benefit, Defined Contribution, ESOP, 403(b), Health and Welfare and Profit Sharing Plans.

In the early 1980's, before entering the securities industry, Ms. McInerney was an accountant and auditor with a firm in New York, where she prepared net worth statements, individual and corporate taxes, sales taxes, payroll taxes and audit reports. She actively worked with clients to ensure compliance with both the state and federal laws.

Ms. McInerney holds two bachelors degrees – in Accounting and Business Administration – from High Point University in North Carolina. She also holds Series 7, 66, life, health, annuity and long-term care licenses.
