Linda Segervall
Director, Marketing and Human Resources

Linda Segervall is the Director of Marketing and Human Resources for Emerson Equity. Ms. Segervall brings to the firm more than15 years of experience at top New York advertising and public relations agencies, as well as leading financial services, software and management consulting firms. Her expertise includes brand positioning and strategic planning, as well as the development of awareness and demand creation programs.

Emerson Equity recognizes the importance of strong marketing – both for the firm and individual brokers. As the Director of Marketing and Human Resources, Ms. Segervall will manage the firm's ongoing branding and awareness campaigns. The initial focus of this effort will be the development of the firm's marketing strategy and sales tools to enhance its ability to market services directly to clients. In addition, the firm will develop a broker announcement program to support new hires as they join Emerson Equity and seek to transfer their accounts.

Ms. Segervall joins Emerson Equity from Icon Branding, where she was Founder and President. Icon Branding's focus is to help technology, financial services and management consulting companies leverage strategic marketing to deliver tangible business results. In this role, she helped her clients – including companies such as PeopleSoft Financials, Visa U.S.A. and Deloitte – drive critical business and marketing projects from strategy through implementation.

Prior to founding Icon Branding in 1999, Linda was the Director of Worldwide Marketing Communications at Network Appliance. In this capacity, she directed the company's $5 million brand marketing, marketing communications, public relations and investor relations activities worldwide. Following the successful completion of an aggressive corporate repositioning effort, the company enjoyed an 18% increase in awareness, 150% increase in media coverage and 60% increase in Web site traffic.

Before Network Appliance, Ms. Segervall was Vice President of Marketing Communications at Softbank Interactive, where she led both the company's corporate marketing and client services functions for clients such as Yahoo!, ZDNet and Netscape.

Earlier, Ms. Segervall was a Vice President at Porter Novelli in New York, the world's 4th largest public relations firm, where she won and managed Sprint Business's $4 million global communications account. Prior to this she held management positions at both Ketchum Communications and Burson-Marsteller, where she directed strategic marketing campaigns, brand positioning efforts and product launches for clients such as IBM Securities Industry, American Management Systems' Financial Services Division, Federal Express, Bell Atlantic and Nynex.

Ms. Segervall's first marketing position was with IBM, where she managed the implementation of promotional events, advertising and sales tool development for the company's Public Sector Division in San Francisco. She began her career as an Assistant Programmer at San Francisco State University, where she earned her B.S. in Computer Information Systems and Marketing.
